If the Deutz 545 could run on vegetable oil - like the Lanz Bulldog..... would be great :-)
If you prehaet it should be possible whit extra clinder lubrication, however all those oils are not clean enough for sustained use

Nicht nur früher, auf dem Rhein sind noch heute Schiffe mit diesen Motoren unterwegs. Die Motoren sind zum Teil seit 60 Jahren in Betrieb👍😎

the sound is from the pressure-tank to start up the engine, after the rotation change
Does the squeaking sound come from the injection nozzles? It sounds pretty close..
